About the Academy of Farsala

Located in the historic city of Farsala in southern Larissa, the Academy of Farsala (Ακαδημία Φαρσάλων) was established to serve as a center for education, scientific research and cultural exchange between Greece and the wider world. Under Fikas’s leadership the Academy seeks to be “a beacon of knowledge and wisdom,” organizing academic programs, cultural events and public outreach initiatives that connect local heritage with global scholarship.
Signature Academy activities include the annual “Hippocrates Week,” with guided tours of landmark sites such as the Acropolis Rock and the Asclepius Temple, as well as visits to national institutions like the Greek Parliament. The Academy also supports lectures, publications and collaborative projects that explore archaeology, classical drama, philosophy, art history and music.
