Interview with the danish writer Bent Warming-Rasmussen, university professor and psychotherapist

Mr. Rassmusen you are known in Denmark as a writer, university professor, psychotherapist and relationship management entrepreneur
When did you start your career as a university professor?

I started my career in 1990. During the 32 years that my university career lasted, I held the position of university assistant, full professor and associate professor. This year I retired in February. My teaching profile includes the following professional skills: Audit, Business Ethics, Financial Accounting, Project Management (accounting), Corporate Social Responsibility (non-financial accounting), Coaching.
As we already know, there are many foreign students at the University of Southern Denmark…
What are the most sought-after majors that students choose to enroll in?

Financial accounting and auditing come first, I would say… among others.
Among other things, you have become a successful writer… how many books have you written and what topics do they cover?
I have written eight books so far and most of them are about accounting and auditing (a formal inspection of the accounts of a person or organization). I have also written books on career about counseling and entrepreneurship. In addition to that, I wrote dozens of specialized articles, eight of which were published in international newspapers.
You are a licensed psychotherapist and currently practicing in this field… What methods do you use to heal people with psychological problems?

There are various methods, Currently i practicing Bodynamic Psychotherapy which focuses on therapy that uses a certain type of beneficial conversation and massaging some of the body parts to remove stress. I have all kinds of patients, middle-aged and older gentlemen and ladies, but most of them are students who often deal with personality crises and other psychological problems that generate stress. People also come to my clinic whose trust has been betrayed, and for them, the process of psychological recovery is a little more difficult than in the case of other people, because trust in people is hard to regain after countless betrayals.

What have been the most interesting challenges you have encountered in your career?

There were many challenges but perhaps the most interesting one was in 1990 when I completed my PhD, exactly at that time, one of the largest stock exchange companies went bankrupt due to the corruption of the administration, and my dissertation it focused on topics such as: Expectations, blunders and trust, with me proposing as a counterargument trust in audit (review of financial accounts). I asked myself why those financial inspectors did not do their job as they should have done to avoid the collapse of the company? My PhD thesis became a highly debated public topic in Denmark, so I was invited to the Danish Institute of Charted Accounts where I gave a speech in front of 400 financial accountants who applauded and congratulated me. It was an unexpected success.
What are your connections with Germany?
My relationship with Germany was related to the fact that I have taught in five universities in Germany and I am also a fluent German speaker. In Germany I had the opportunity to work with Professor Dr. Reiner Qiuck for 20 years.
What was the greatest achievement of your life?
The biggest achievement of my life is not related to the professional side but to the family side. The fact that my wife gave me two children is for me the greatest achievement of my life. And further, my children became parents themselves. So I have four grandchildren, which makes me feel like a very fulfilled person.
What other passions do you have besides the ones already known?
I have many hobbies including a passion for collecting old Danish coins. I also collected a number of old coins from Germany and Sweden. Another passion is for my ancestors and for this reason I decided to write a book about my family tree. I traced my research to a great grandfather of mine born in 1868 who lived to the age of 88 and had a very interesting but tragic life at the end. My great grandfather lived on a farm with his widowed mother helping her earn money, then became a ship captain. He was a man respected for his work and position. Unfortunately, after the invasion of the German army, his life took a tragic turn. His family was killed in the war and he was left alone and poor, he lost everything.
